Compressors

The Sanden U4494 is a 7 cylinder wobble plate compressor that displaces 154cc per revolution. It is the heavy duty version of the Sanden 7H15.

It is used on trucks such as Volvo and earthmoving equipment. It has a 6 rib pulley as standard.

Most crank pulleys are slightly larger than the pulley on this resulting in a slight overdrive. Generally this will result in aprox 3.5 -5 cfm at idle and aprox 10 cfm at 1500 rpm. This amount of airflow makes short work of tyre inflation and will run air tools (within reason).

This compressor will need to either have a automatic oiler on the inlet side and a coalescing filter on the exit, although not directly at the compressor. Or it will need to be modified to use internal grease as its lubricant. You can find out more regarding this process here.

Full 100% duty cycle can be acheived with this as a air compressor provided lubrication and air outlet hose heat can be controlled.
